Named after Demeter, the Olympian goddess of the harvest, mother to Persephone. After Hades captured her child, the crops of Earth withered and died. Every year Persephone is released from the Underworld to spend 6 months with Demeter, at which time the crops of Earth flourish until she must return. These earrings evoke the bittersweet passage of the seasons as told through ancient mythology.
